[Hampshire] [OT] Recovering an NTFS Dynamic Volume

I have a second 200GB hard drive that was created as a dynamic ntfs
volume under Win XP Professional, and spanned the whole drive.

I recently resized it down to 120GB, and despite all indications that it
was successful the drive became 'Unreadable' in Windows Disk Manager.

After much Googling I ended up blowing it away and recreating it, but
not reformatting. Sadly, none of the fixes I found have worked with
regard to bringing it back online, and I thought I'd see if anyone has
any suggestions before I kiss it goodbye and reformat. The data loss
that will result will be inconvenient rather than catastrophic, but a
pain nonetheless.
