Agreed so what is the correct protocol to correct the problem, you say
transfer as a user so I can't tranfer as root, do I change the permission on
the /www/baiter folder to the level of the user or is there a group the user
should belong to ( I did look but could not see anything)??

(I realise that I could simply change the permission on /var/www to user
access but I want to at least try and do it properly)
