I've always been scared of it also, but this SNAFU came about while I
was trying to fdisk a USB thumb drive in prep for DSL install on it.
Went to fdisk and forgot to tell it that I wanted to USB drive and not
my main HDD.

I'm going to let gpart have a go. If I'm back inside the next hour, it
worked, else I fdisking from a rescue DSL CD (I hope or rather hope not!)
