[Hampshire] Opera problems - segmentaion fault

If anyone else is having problems with Opera following a recent
update of X, ie Opera fails to load with this type of error message:

ERROR: ld.so: object 'libjvm.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded:
ignored.
ERROR: ld.so: object 'libawt.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be
preloaded: ignored.
