[Hampshire] Contextual std{out,err}

Hello,

I've been trying to use creating file descriptor 3 courtesy of Thomas
Adam from the following wiki page:

However, it doesn't seem to work under bash. I seem to remember Thomas
using a different shell (zsh?). Is this the reason? Or am I doing it
wrong?

Does anyone know of a similar way of achieving the same?
