One for the Gnome/KDE/Desktop people out there.
I'd like to change my Skype status depending upon my location. I
could craft this myself, or use one of the multitude of programs out
there to do this, but I wondered if anyone was aware of freedesktop
way to do this.
e.g. where I can just listen for dbus events and then tell skype.
The closest I found was
http://www.galago-project.org/about.php which
does something completely different.
Otherwise I'll be looking at whereami, laptop-net, laptop-netconf etc,
or maybe writing my own package (with bigger things in mind there).
