I was just tidying up and found a 10 year old copy of Micro Computer
Mart (Jan 1998). Advertising 'unbelievable prices' such as:
PII 300 with 32Mb RAM, 2.6Gb, HDD 33.6 Modem, and 14" SVGA monitor.
all for an unbelievable £1479. No WAY you could ever fill a disk that
huge!
Or how about one of those new fangled CD writers, 4xWrite, 4xRead for
only £381.87 ?
Or 64Mb of 168 pin RAM for £175.08
Oh we were rich in those days! Mind you at least most system ads have
a separate price for Windows if you want it - we don't often have the
choice now.
