Should be okay Rob.
The only thing I have encountered in this regard is the small adapters
Dell employ that sit between the hard drive and the IDE interface.
However, it was a case of buying a standard 2.5 " drive (like this one)
and carefully removing said adapter from the dead drive and pushing it
equally carefully onto the new one.
Stating the obvious here: some laptops use SATA interface hard drives
now, so ensure yours isn't one of them if you are purchasing that
particular drive!
Also, another 7 quid doubles the size of the drive, and an extra 12 quid
trebles it...
