I don't plan to connect to the server if the datacentre's network is down.
But I see what your saying, i didn't think i had the option to install a
phone line, is this normal ?

That's ok, just don't do it again. Hehe only joking your advice is always
appreciated so please don't think otherwise.

Ok, but connecting from another PC isn't an option at this point, also time
is a factor so a box of plug in with instant joy is preffered.

I've had enough mini-itx boxes going down in the past 2 years to avoid them in future. As for Soekris products, I'd like to try them out when i'm not so busy ;-)

Ok, I just thought they were called something slightly different, like 'remote console servers' n that, since these days the terms 'terminal server' and infact 'terminal services' seem to have been nicked by microsoft.

No, as said before its appreciated.

I'll probably end up finding out that i can assign an IP to the sun LOM over BOOTP or something in the coming months, but for now i'm on the lookout for a keenly priced 'terminal server' :-D

many thanks indeed,

Isaac.
