No - I was simply asking if anyone could direct me to some documentation
so that I could find out what the %m conversion was about. I wasn't asking
anyone to debug anything, I wasn't asking anyone to start peering at code
or working out who needs to be informed about this.
I just wanted to know what the %m conversion does in scanf(). So that's
what I asked.

That might be so; nevertheless, RH are my direct upstream, so it's up to
them what they want to do about it.
But to find out whether they needed to do anything, I first tried to
understand what %m does in a scan() call. I wasn't expecting the Spanish
Inquisition...
