[Hampshire] Where's the best place to mount NAS?

Hi all

If I want to mount a NAS a bootup - where should I put this (on Ubuntu but I assume something as fundamental as this applies to all distros)?

I've put it in /etc/init.d/rc.local but it must be failing because the nas ain't mounted - I've not checked the logs. Presume it must be because either samba or the networking isn't up at the point rc.local runs. In which case - is there a better option?
