Hmm, I think a noise-cancelling boom mic, or at
most a throat mic, will do.

Of equal importance are the headphones - it's
noisy enough that lip-reading helps when you're
talking to someone next to you.

Does anyone have experience of the studio
headphones/mics, or using headsets with PMR/mobile
phones?
