Well spotted! The wireless button works in linux. It obviously helps to have wireless turned on but I still can't "talk" to the hub, unfortunately.

Nope. Which is a shame because I like the mac address approach to security.

Debian testing (lenny) beta 2 i386

Yes. 2 more laptops with built-in wireless and a tower.

Works fine under windows, darn it :-)

I'll keep trying but luckily, I have the 10 meter, bright orange network cable that my wife absolutely adores trailing through the house!
