Wandering around our local ASDA tonight we walked passed there little shelf
computer bits and there sat of the shelf were there own label web cams for £5
(well £5 and a few pence) and I thought well what the hell let have some fun.
So back home I hook it up to my PC and have a quick look in syslog to see if
it has been seen and yes I had the following:
03/10/08 20:20:58 titan kernel /usr/src/modules/gspca/gspca_core.c: USB GSPCA
camera found. (PAC207)
03/10/08 20:20:58 titan kernel /usr/src/modules/gspca/gspca_core.c:

03/10/08 20:20:58 titan kernel /usr/src/modules/gspca/gspca_core.c:

03/10/08 20:20:58 titan kernel /usr/src/modules/gspca/gspca_core.c: gspca
driver 01.00.18 registered
03/10/08 20:20:58 titan kernel usbcore: registered new interface driver gspca
03/10/08 20:20:58 titan kernel Linux video capture interface: v2.00
03/10/08 20:20:57 titan kernel usb 3-2: new full speed USB device using
uhci_hcd and address 9
03/10/08 20:20:57 titan kernel usb 3-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
lsusb return the following relevant line:
Bus 003 Device 009: ID 093a:2460 Pixart Imaging, Inc.
Now looking at the syslog output I guessed that gspca is the driver so I had a
quick google and found the following site
http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca5xx.html
Now as far as I know the gspca driver is load (according to lsmod), but now I
am a bit lost as to what to do next.
I am certainly not expecting anything fancy from my cheapie web cam, I tried
the webcam on my window pc and while it worked it was far from pretty.
Any suggestions what my next should be?
Tim
