According to other users, there is a bug.



The BIOS password "works" if the laptop is booted from cold but is somehow corrupted when brought out of hibernate.


One user proved this by deliberately letting his laptop hibernate to recreate the problem but he could remove the battery from his laptop to reset it. I don't have that option as the battery is soldered in.
