[Hampshire] Wanted: text editor with more print control

I tend to write documentation (of all sorts) using a simple text file rather
than create a word processing document as I find it durable over time. At
present I am using Gnome's gedit in Debian which is ok but I'd like a bit
more control over printing - for example it doesn't allow you to set a
standard format with different print margins. The previous version in Etch
used margins I liked but the Lenny version doesn't. I'd like to find another
text editor I can use which is fairly simple but allows more printing
control e.g. to be able set up a default format for margins, headers and
footers. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
