That sound very much like my problem but the strange thing is, it has only
happen since I upgraded to mepis8 and Kmail 1.99.9
While killing kmail via cron and restarting it does work, I have had it fall
over an hour after restarting it, infact your e-mail failed to come through, I
had to restart kmail. It certainly seem to be a communication error and kmail
still thinking it is downloading, I guess there must be a timeout setting
somewhere for downloading e-mail which could with being tweaked.
