Hi, all!
I have an old Dell 2650 which was running Ubuntu 8.10 (installed from CD)
perfectly satisfactorily.
Today, I finally gave in to the nagging, and decided (on an impulse) to
allow the upgrade to Ubuntu 9.04.
After a long but apparently successful upgrade (it lies about how long it
will take!) it won't now boot. I get the message 'Boot from (hd0,0) ext3'
[etc.] then 'Starting up...' followed by ...... nothing. Aaaaargh!
Do I have any option but to re-install from the old 8.10 CD ?
