Hi,
On the contrary, I would say Microsoft is a very reliable brand. If I was contemplating becoming an investor I can say with pretty good certainty that they would continue to enjoy a near monopoly and to bring in a return on my investment by "leveraging" it.
Their products are, on the other hand, quite shocking in my view.

No. And I think YOU are reading this "a bit wrong". Linux wasn't mentioned
at all: my initial post was regarding the fact that Microsoft are seen as
the strongest / most reliable brand in the UK. The words "Microsoft" and
"reliable" don't sit together well for me.
