state. So using it can be a frustrating experience as it keeps
re-mounting things you have just unmounted. There have been times when
I have cribbed the commands it says it will execute and run them
manually from a terminal instead.

As for why it only gave you a tiny initial / partition, I'm not sure -
although I seem to recall hearing past arguments that '/' itself
should be fairly small if there are separate partitions for /var,
/home, etc. People tens to be less bothered nowadays with bigger HDDs
available. Shall bow to the Debian experts on the list ;-)
