Ben consider bringing the box along and some kind folks will probably help sort
your problems out.
Re the hardware issue I did have a problem with a machine that only crashed
when running a certain big SQL query - The boss ended up replacing defective memory.
If Ooo is the biggest app running this *may* (wild guess) be an issue.
