Hi Clive,

I would say for large file support, NTFS would possible be the only
option from a Windows 7 point of view, NTFS support in Linux these days
seems very good.

I have a dual boot Windows / Ubuntu 10.10 and Ubuntu has no problems
with seeing the Windows drives and reading/writing to them, although
they are internal drives but I guess this shouldn't make to much difference.

However as it is a USB drive I seem recall that within Windows (at
least) you should always use the eject routine with NTFS, I believe that
just pulling the cable can cause problems on NTFS.

Another option would be to use an application on Windows to read EXT3, I
know there are some but dont know how reliable they are.

However some other people on the list may have better solutions.

Rgds

Peter.
