I have been trying to install silentcast on a laptop running Ubuntu. It
depends on ffmpeg, which appears to be missing from the standard
Ubuntu repository. I compiled it from source, available at ffmpeg.org.
Silentcast still won't install:
pra@pra-Inspiron-15-3552:~$ sudo apt-get install silentcast
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies.
silentcast : Depends: ffmpeg but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
pra@pra-Inspiron-15-3552:~$ which ffmpeg
/usr/local/bin/ffmpeg
Any ideas on how to fix this?
