Dell flat refused to do that for me a few years back when I bought an
i8200 with XP bundled. They were prepared to lose the sale on a £2.5k
machine rather than upset their supplier, and went as far as to state
that their contract with MS forbade them to sell a machine with an OS on
it. I believe they got around this a couple of years later by putting a
free implementation of DOS on there. Seems that times have changed now.
