Linux can learn a lot about making deals to get oem installation, big
sales and marketing. But I fear a deal with ms will not help in that
respect.
There is no reason that windows should *want* to learn *anything* from
linux is there? It has a monopoly and can charge what it likes, and
people will buy it anyway! Windows has no interest in learning from
linux. I cannot recall an example of windows learning anything.

Taking maybe. And that is being polite. Embracing and extinguishing,
after extracting, yes. but not learning. It is called business, and
that is the way that it is done. A string of lawsuits trail along too,
all costing really big bucks that many companies cannot afford. I
would not want to feed that particular crocodile thanks, not if I can
help it.

Suse, Novell and Linux had better watch out. How will people migrate
more easily to Suse when Suse is no longer viable as a real choice? I
think, unfortunately, that the benefit you welcome will wither from
hostile winds. I sincerely hope that other embers will endure and
flourish.
