Subject: [Hampshire] Differential copying
Hi all

Is there a way to copy files from a to b such that they're only copied if they don't already exist on b?

Ideally I need the answer for:
a) XP explorer or DOS (initially)
b) Gnome
c) bash (as a last resort... There was a time I was very much into shell programming, but I've not the time or patience nowadays).

Essentially, I'm transferring some stuff to my mp3 player and I want to keep a backup on a Linux box but at present it's held on an XP box. I don't want to be doing a full backup each time for a handful of files - and I don't want to use backup software because it'll insist on trying to compress mp3s - wasting time and battery life.

Cheers
Rob
