I see no 4G at all in my /boot/config-2.6.20-16-generic - but being
the 64-bit version, as Hugo implies, discounts that.

eeek. That I was not expecting so yes, I am surprised. I then did a
google on 'acer aspire T180 shared memory' which seems to confirm it.
