Actually in Debian it's mostly already configured for you and I think
all you need is:
auto mybridge
iface mybridge inet dhcp
bridge_ports eth0 eth1
And it does the rest.
See /usr/share/doc/bridge-utils/README.Debian.gz for details on the rest
of the syntax.
