BE VERY CAREFUL with these LAN Disks.
The onboard processor is so slow that it fails a simple locking test
where TWO connected clients can create identically named directories.
Result? It becomes a brick.(just like a modded iphone). This can also
apply to a single client where you think that the command to create a
directory has not happened. Then you issue it again and suddenly, it
catches up and you have two identically named directories.
I had to tell a camera club member that many of his photos were gone
forever (just like the HMRC Disks!) when he did this to his device. I
managed to rescue some directories by putting the HDD in a PC and
booting DR-DOS recovery disk(Thank god for the internet) but still some
stuff was too far messed up to recover.

It uses FAT32 as it is a relatively easy format to use. But this ease of
use has its drawbacks and this is certainly one of them.

The offending device was off loaded at a Car Boot sale for 5.00GBP a few
weeks ago.
