I just want to check that you've enabled the livna repository and
installed kmod-nvidia from there with "yum -y install kmod-nvidia".

This is the preferred method of getting everything installed for nvidia
driven video cards.

Assuming you have a 64-bit machine these will be:
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-169.07-4.lvn8.x86_64
kmod-nvidia-169.07-1.lvn8.x86_64
kmod-nvidia-2.6.23.9-85.fc8-169.07-1.lvn8.x86_64

This will update xorg.conf to use the correct driver for you.

As root running system-config-display should let you choose what
resolution or dual-headed stuff you want to configure.
