Hi there,

I know nothing about connecting audio/video things together so I'm
not really sure what I'm doing.

I have a Humax PVR which connects to my portable TV via SCART cable
and the output is set to RGB. The Humax can also do S-Video over
this SCART, apparently.

Since I have bought two monitors each of which is better than the
TV, and also because the TV is now not visible from where the
computer desk is, I thought I would try to find a way to plug the
Humax into my desktop and watch TV on one monitor. But I'm a bit
confused over exactly what I need.

The computer bit needs to be USB as I don't have any slots left. I
don't need a tuner as I only want to plug the Humax in. I'd like to
be able to watch it in a window or fullscreen if I want.

Will this work?:

Then presumably I would just need a SCART->S-Video cable and to
change the Humax to outputting S-Video?

I've googled around a bit to see about Linux support of this "USB
Live Video Capture" but haven't really found anything conclusive.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Cheers,
Andy
