[Hampshire] Basic Web Editing

Hi all

Could anyone give me a recommendation for a basic web editing application?

>From time to time, I have to do a few very basic static html pages and I was
always happy with Netscape composer - but Netscape is no more.

To be honest, I'm looking for something just a shade above a Word
Processor - and it would be nice to learn a transferrable skill as they're
looking for a web author at work at the moment.

If these requriements are too exacting, what's the best web auhoring tool
for Linux (Ubuntu) at the moment?
