I don't know how we'd survive without our HD/DVD recorder. For a start
there's time shifting programs to times when you can get some peace and
quiet (when the kids are in bed *and* asleep), and then there's catching
things like the re-runs of Dr Who on UKTV Drama at around 5am (as it is
now) [1]. I think we have a couple of near complete series waiting to be
watched when we get the time, as well as a couple of odd items going
back before Christmas, or even earlier. Things are never on at
convenient times.

[1] as an aside, does anyone else have kids who find the old original Dr
Who series scarier than the current ones? I can't quite get my head
around how that works! Oh, and is it a good or bad thing that our
yougest calls the Sontaran character Linx (from the original series)
Linux? :)
