Yes. What would you expect it to do?

Yes. en_GB.UTF-8, as in en == English Language. GB == Great Britain
dialect of "en" language (c.f. also US). UTF-8 == Use the Unicode UTF8
encoding of en_GB (c.f. also ISO 8859-1; ISO-8859-15 encodings).
