Do you still have the old one?

Put the old one on the cable modem, serving the machines local to it,
and run just one long cable to the remote location (or middle of the
house) to run the new access point?

Alternatively get a pair of Ethernet-over-Power adapters and put the
new access point right next to where you need it (or use EoP instead
of WiFi) :)
