The trouble with this approach is that a legitimate email with a typo in
the address will be dropped silently - but the originator will have seen
the mail accepted, so he thinks it's been delivered (and then ignored).

I had this happen to an invoice I sent out a few weeks back. It lead to a
certain amount of unpleasantness :-(
