I have two cron jobs I setup in kcron, one job closes kmail down at a particular
time and the other restarts kmail (more about why below). Apart from checking
the system log file and can I tell if it has closed and restarted the program
correctly?
The reason I am stopping and restarting kmail is that one on the mail sites I
collect mail from will just stop working, I won't receive any e-mails from
them. Shutting down kmail waiting a couple of minutes and then restarting kmail
and then all the e-mail come rolling in from that provider.
The mail provider say they don't support kmail but have confirmed that the
settings I am using are correct. How do I test what is going wrong with the
connection??
The mail provider in question is inbox.com (
www.inbox.com), it is a web based
e-mail service which offer forwarding to pop box which I have setup and work ok
until it stops working. I have setup thunderbird on the same account and that
worked flawlessly.
The kmail version in question is 1.9.9, KDE is 3.5.10 and I am running Mepis v8
(Debian Lenny)
