[Hampshire] Wired alternative to CurrentCost Meter?

Is there a wired alternative to the CurrentCost meter?. I am discouraged
from introducing wireless into the house but would like to join in the fun.

I haven't found anything on the net. Even the current clamps on the
component websites seem to be surprisingly expensive.
