I found what appears to be his local mail folders in .AME, and judging
by the moz_profile folder therein this might be to be a reworking of
Thunderbird of some sort, although how directly compatible it is with
regular full-flavour Thunderbird is anyone's guess.

Your google fu is strong where mine is obviously weak this weekend: I
became very frustrated with the main Linpus site and also increasingly
dubious of the various torrents dotted around elsewhere, before finally
resorting to the well-spring of knowledge that is HantsLUG mailing list!
