Not if it claims that only Debian use the G/L naming. Many other people do
as well - I'm one of them, when I'm framing my sentences accurately. The
whole GNU organisation are another bunch who use the term. It is trivial
to prove that your book is incorrect in claiming that Debian are the only
people to use the term (and I doubt it claims that at all, but as I don't
have a copy to hand, I'm not going to check).

Yes - but the term "Linux" is being used incorrectly in that situation.
I'm not saying it doesn't happen - I'm not even saying it's uncommon. I'm
saying it's incorrect.

Then you are wrong. It is the correct term.

Most of us don't care when people use the wrong term but it's downright
crazy to get uppity when someone uses the right one.

No it hasn't. That's simply wrong. Using it to mean more than the kernel
is actually a trademark infringement (not that Linus would enforce it).
