My Zen connection has had one outage longer than a few minutes in the 5 - or
is it 6? - years I have been with them. It was a few weeks ago. I lost
internet connection completely on a Sunday afternoon, the day before I had to
get an on-line assessment in for an on-line MA. Once I had crawled round on
the floor eliminating all in-house possibilities it was 3:45.

A very pleasant chap at Zen told me that it being Sunday he was afraid that it
was most unlikely that my connection would be back for the next day, in fact
it might be midweek before it was up again. Since we were by now talking of
BT, I sadly agreed with him. Bear in mind that this is towards the end of
Sunday afternoon. Between 11:00 and midninght, my line woke up. Apparently
my card in the exchange was in the wrong position or something. I didn't
really understand, but it had needed a BT engineer to go out to the exchange
and move something.

I discovered that, when I rang next morning to thank Zen help-line for
achieving this miracle. I asked what on earth they had done to BT to make
them come out to our exchange on a Sunday evening.

His reply? "Oh we generally have quite a good relationship wth BT. I'm glad
you're happy." I _had_ said that it really mattered to me - but that doesn't
often cut much ice with ISP helplines!

It would take a lot to make me move from Zen.
