My Epia 5000 based box was fine over the 18 months or so I ran it - it
did have a problem disk-wise, but that was a donated 3.5" 60G Maxtor and
not a laptop drive.

I have heard it said that 2.5" drives aren't designed for 24/7 use, but
can't back that up with a reference of solid evidence. Sort of makes
sense when you think about it.
