The webcam utility from xawtv has a trigger feature, does anyone know what
the measurement units are, or reasonable settings to adjust the utility
just enough so an not to upload very similar images, say at night when the
outside light has not been triggered. The documentation is sparse to say
the least. I may test the motion utility but I would prefer to keep it
simple if I can.

Here is my .wecamrc config:-

[grab]
    device = /dev/video0
    text = interlinux cctv %Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S
    #infofile = filename
    fg_red = 255
    fg_green = 255
    fg_blue = 255
    width = 320
    height = 240
    delay = 0
    input = composite1
    brightness = 60
    contrast = 60
    norm = ntsc
    #norm = pal
    rotate = 0
    top = 0
    left = 12
    bottom = -1
    right = -1
    quality = 80
    trigger = 180
    once = 1

TIA

Damian
