Works a treat;

1) weather proof mono cam.
2) outdoor weather proof cable into house via tumble drier outlet.
3) scart2composite (2 lead breakout and solder to old RCA plug).
4) Hauppauge TV card.
5) bttv kernel module at boot (+V4L).
6) xawtv.
7) xawtv->webcam app (<18KB ave. image with date/time stamp).
8) scp to remote server (London) every 5 secs with ssh certs (no pass).
9) cron, awk (date stamp), gzip and bash to process images.
10) tar.gz created of each day's images and archived on remote server (3
month capacity).
11) httpd, htaccess and java image reload every 5 secs for viewing.
