The 300 children are being used in the main smtp connect with the rbl
checks. Spamassassin is not running

It's a complete mess. I hope to tidy it up when I migrate to postfix

The only time I've had an email server hammered has been running
spamassassin - and now I've got various things sat in front to avoid
scanning most emails. Why are the 300 children being used (i.e. what
are they doing?)

This is my current setup, though I do need to tweak the anti-spam some
more (I havn't done the "learning" bit for example which is a problem
- I think I'll setup a ham and smap email addresses (only internally
accessible) which I can forward email to.

Another issue is that the greylisting daemon seems a little simplistic
- i.e. some companies send from mailrelay1 (greylisted), then
mailrelay2 (greylisted - new IP), etc etc. It would also be nice to
have a bit of a whitelist (e.g. for amazon etc).
