Subject: [Hampshire] Anyone familiar with USB and cdc/acm?
Hi Guys,

Just an off-chance.

I built a product with a USB connection using the CDC/ACM methor for
virtual serial ports as the means of connection.

When I first did it, I couldn't get it to go on any Windoze platform,
but Linux just said "yeah, fine, no problems" and the device ran fine.

Now I've fixed things so the Evil Empire (TM) OSs will work with the
product, Linux seems to have stopped recognising it. The USB data traces
on my external packet sniffer show the dialogue looking sane, with
02/02/00 (CDC/ACM/NoProtocol), but Linux reports it as 02/00/00, which
is CDC, but not ACM, and no longer offers a /dev/ttyACM (or whatever it
previously was).

Anyone familiar with this?
Any suggestions?

Whilst Linux is seen as "not a priority", most of the applications being
on Windoze, I hate to see 'King Billy win one for no justified reason.

TIA,

ATB,
    Gordon.
