Hi all
I'm trying to get an old dial-up modem to work with Linux as a dialler only.
Does anyone know of a program that will essentially take a number e.g.
pasted from a website and dial it for you? ...and stop right there - don't
send it any sort of handshaking or protocol.
IIRC (and it is at least 8 years since I was on dialup), there's some sort
of "modem language" isn't there with something like "AT" meaning pick up
receiver and ATDT x means dial x. That's all I need it to do - nothing
more. Essentially I'm looking for a way to avoid misdialling (a common
problem for me with my eyesight) once I see a phone number on a webpage.
