I am trying to do some image manipulation using Gimp.
I have an image in .gif format from a different application (Ooo).
When I open that gif in gimp and then Gimp's Colours menu, and try
selecting several of the menu items I get the above message. This
appears when I select any of the Colour Balance, Hue-Saturation,
Colourise, Brightness-Contrast, and Posterise commands.
I did a "quick" (well not much more than 1 hr) search through the
Ubuntu forums but only found one post which said "I managed to figure
out what was needed." *without saying what it was!!* Aaargh!!
This is gimp 2.4.0-rc3 on gutsy, 2.6.22-14-generic, x86_64 on AMD
Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+
