Hi

No one else has mentioned it so I will, have you thought of trying Opensuse
10.3? I've just moved from 10.0 to 10.3 on a 1.8GHz P4 machine with 512MB ram
and noticed a significant improvement in speed and responsiveness in all
areas. I also hear from a friend who has upgraded this week from 10.1 to
10.3, that he has also noticed a significant improvement in the 64bit
version.

As you are used to the way opensuse works it may be worth having a look at.
