Not so long ago most online banking sites required IE. Some didn't work
properly even if you fiddled with your user-agent. The same was true for
online supermarket sites, where all the "big four" only worked properly
under IE.
Fortunately it's much rarer to find a site that is designed with such
little knowledge or skill these days.
